“Through this surgery, I couldn’t help but think about the scars,” Porizkova began. “What I have, I hug. But I have no desire to make a new one. During our vacation, I kept saying goodbye to the smooth skin all over my hipbones, even though I felt guilty for being vain.”

Porizkova details her process of choosing an orthopedic surgeon, taking into account their approach to incisions. Finally, he chose Dr. Roy Davidovitch and Dr. Pierre Saadeh for the procedure, acknowledging their skill in suturing while also expressing his ongoing journey to accept his new scar.

“Today is day 7 post op/ 1 week,” said the Sports Illustrated model. “I know that incision will soon become a part of me. They will be reminders of old pain and new victories. They will join all the other inscriptions on my body and mind – both visible and invisible – which will all, in the end, be the glue that holds me together, the broken web of the past that has healed stronger.”
“They will be part of what makes up my map,” Porizkova continued. “And like all the other scars on my outside and inside, I will accept it. I will be proud of them. But I don’t intend to propose to someone new.”

Porizkova announced via Instagram last week that she is undergoing “long overdue” double hip replacement surgery. He revealed that his hips had worn down over time due to congenital hip dysplasia, leaving him with no cartilage. Her announcement was accompanied by a photo of her in a two-piece bikini and another image showing her lying in a hospital room.
According to information from the Mayo Clinic, hip dysplasia can lead to a variety of complications, including osteoarthritis or hip labral tears. This condition occurs when the hip socket fails to completely cover the ball of the upper thigh bone.
Porizkova stated, “There is nothing left.” He recounted how medical professionals reacted to his X-rays, stating, “’Well, it’s bone on bone,’ they exclaimed. ‘At least we know you’re good at taking pain!’”
The severity of the condition makes addressing one hip at a time ineffective, as it will hinder the healing process and mobility.
Looking back on her situation, Porizkova expressed gratitude for having one last vacation before her surgery. He emphasized his readiness for a new hip and expressed gratitude that the problem was fixable.
