Model Paulina Porizkova speaks out about Hamas’ attacks on Israel and encourages others to do the same.
On Monday night, the “No Filter: The Good, The Bad, and The Beautiful” author shared an Instagram post that was originally shared by comedian and actress Amy Schumer.
Paulina Porizkova Responds to ‘Horror Happening in Israel’
Although she is an acclaimed author, Paulina Porizkova also has trouble getting the words out about what to say. Instead, he decided to repost Amy Schumer’s Instagram post to respond to attacks on Israel.
“It is reasonable and logical to oppose the Israeli government’s treatment of the Palestinian people WHILE AT THE SAME TIME calling for the protection of Jews in Israel and around the world. Hamas is a terrorist organization that attacks civilians by land, air and sea,” the statement began. “The images of kidnapped Israelis are shocking and devastating.”

“Given the thousands of years of persecution of Jews, please know that your fellow Jews – even if they are not in Israel – are heartbroken and afraid when things like this happen and non-Jews are silent,” it continued. “I understand that many of us are afraid to voice our opinions because the crisis there is very nuanced and difficult to understand, and we are afraid of saying the wrong thing. But we can – and must – always use our voices to denounce violence and the senseless killing of civilians.”
Paulina shared the statement on her own Instagram page, adding, “Since the news about the horrors that happened in Israel, I have been struggling to think of what to say and how to say it. But this said it was better than anything I made- so I’m posting again. Silence is not an option.”
Paulina Has Attracted Much Debate About Her Comments
Unfortunately, not everyone is satisfied with its measured response. “Well, this is disappointing; where is your voice with the Palestinian children who have been killed in recent years? Maybe you haven’t seen the footage but let me tell you it’s not pretty watching the Israeli army arrest and kill them. Be on the right side of history. Do you feel the same way about apartheid South Africa and indigenous lands?” one user asked.
Many fans immediately came to Paulina’s defense. “You’ve extrapolated a lot there that he didn’t say. He started with Palestinian sympathies,” wrote one fan. “He doesn’t post about Israeli violence against Palestinians every day but comes forward when there is retaliation,” another follower commented.

“Anyone who condones violence against civilians is sick. There was never any justification for it. If you think there is, there is something wrong with you. Innocent people were slaughtered. Teenagers kidnapped and killed at a music festival,” a third fan chimed in.
“Violence is violence. They don’t care who they kill or which side they kill. Hamas kills as many Palestinians as they kill anyone else. What is frustrating is that a woman is on the side of violence and you are just a dog in their eyes. You are someone who needs to be beaten, raped, mutilated and killed while they laugh and videotape it to show the whole world. The senseless killing has to stop. Either side needs to be stopped! But, violence is complete hatred and evil. They won’t stop as long as people like you allow it and allow it. That’s their excuse, that’s their lie for their actions,” another follower shared.

Another netizen commented, “I’m not sure why it’s so hard to speak out in support of Israel. Violence is very sad. Period.” Paulina replied, “Yes, one would think. But look at the comments here already.”
As the debate in the comments heated up, one user wrote, “As an American Jew (who DOES NOT agree with Bebe) the comments on this feed scare the hell out of me. It’s unfortunate that normal people are voicing widespread antisemitism.” Paulina replied, “Unfortunately, I have to agree. A lot of the comments here scare me too.”
