“DWTS” experts Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy are expanding their family.
Murgatroyd shared the baby news with several photos of her baby on Instagram, adding that she didn’t realize she was pregnant for weeks. In a recent interview with People magazineshe remembered feeling the usual symptoms but put off the pregnancy test for a while.
After confirming she was pregnant, the dancer said she felt “skeptical” because of her previous miscarriages. Now that she’s pregnant, Murgatroyd says she’s excited to show off her baby bump but isn’t ready to reveal the child’s gender.

In an interview with Many people magazineMurgatroyd shared the exciting announcement of expanding their family after previously experiencing three miscarriages.
The couple, who have been married since 2017, share a son Shai and, for years, have been trying to add another child to the family.
During that period, they first sought fertility treatments to help them conceive, all without success. Luckily, the 36-year-old dancer eventually took to it naturally.
“It’s all natural, it happens,” he told the publication. “I didn’t even know I was pregnant for so long that I really felt sick. I danced my way through Dancing with the Stars with her.
Murgatroyd remembers feeling familiar symptoms, but at the time, she didn’t realize they were caused by her pregnancy.
She added, “I started feeling weird, started feeling a little sick and a little bloated, and I didn’t want to test for weeks.”

When she finally went for the test, seeing that the results revealed she was pregnant was quite a shock for the “Burn The Floor” alum.
“I think it was the fastest positive I’ve ever seen in my life,” Murgatroyd recalled of his reaction. “It came up so fast, and I was surprised. “
However, instead of jumping for joy, the nearly 18-week-old dancer celebrated her victory quietly. Due to her previous miscarriage, she was “skeptical” whether she would carry the baby to term.
She added, “It’s not like I’m jumping for joy and I’m shouting from the rooftops, ‘Oh my God, I’m pregnant. Yay!’ It’s more like, ‘Okay, let’s see what happens because I’ve been through this four more times, and it didn’t work.’ So I was very skeptical. I didn’t even tell Maks for a while.”

Struggling with infertility before finally getting pregnant took a toll on Murgatroyd and her husband, and some days, it felt overwhelming.
The ordeal was made worse when the two of them had to frequently answer Shai’s questions about whether he would have a sibling.
“It’s a lot some days,” he said Many people during an interview in June 2022. “So emotional because I don’t know what to tell him anymore. I told him the first two times, but I kept it vague. I didn’t make up this whole, ‘Oh my God, we’re going to have a baby’ thing. I just said, ‘Be careful with Mummy’s stomach. She has a baby there.’ “
She added of the experience, “I think that was another really difficult part because she saw other kids with siblings.”

In the meantime, Murgatroyd is keeping details of her child’s gender under wraps because she feels she is not ready to share the news with the public.
She previously kept her pregnancy a secret but is now hyped to show off her publicly known baby bump.
“It’s going to be so good that I can go for walks and not wear baggy clothes now,” said the mother of one, with a second due in June. “I can go on social media and show my whole body. I’ve done everything from the bust up.”
The “DWTS” alum also admitted that her pregnancy came with a lot of food cravings for “bread and pasta and rice and all the good stuff,” not including “ice cream and cookies.”
