Phil Baroni made his UFC debut at UFC 30 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He faced another hitting expert, Curtis Stout, and won by a majority vote. Baroni was undefeated before going 3-0 before facing Matt Lind Land in his second fight, which he lost. However, Baroni soon became famous for his UFC fights. The main success of the fighter was a KO victory over Dave Menne, who was also the UFC middleweight champion at the time.
