Pierce Brosnan Fined $1500+ After Illegal Yellowstone Hiking

Hollywood veteran Pierce Brosnan has pleaded guilty to one of two charges brought against him for allegedly entering a protected hot spring.

The ’90s “Bond” star was arrested in November 2023 for trespassing in Yellowstone National Park. However, he initially proclaimed his innocence before recently changing his tune to avoid possible jail time.

According to new court documents, Brosnan pleaded guilty to his illegal hot springs hike in Idaho. He accepted responsibility for one of the charges against him—one count of hiking in all thermal areas and within Yellowstone Canyon limited to trails.

He received an illegal hiking charge for allegedly wandering into a delicate hot spring in Yellowstone. Photos of what appears to be a restricted area were found on his social media pages and reposted by TouronsOfYellowstone.

Thanks to the plea deal, Brosnan got the other charges against him dismissed and about $1,540 in fines and other court costs. This is a very good decision for the 70-year-old man, who previously faced severe consequences for climbing illegal hot springs.

After initially pleading not guilty just two months ago, the “Tomorrow Never Dies” actor faces up to $5000 in fines or even six months in prison if found guilty.

Brosnan’s escape from possible imprisonment comes two years after a standoff with an alleged spy. In October 2022, he filed a restraining order against a then-55-year-old woman for allegedly living out of her Malibu beach home.

According to the restraining order document, Brosnan argued he and his family needed protection from overzealous fans. This woman allegedly lived outside her car, parked outside her home, and refused to leave.

“He has stalked me and my family,” the Hollywood veteran claimed, asking the court to protect himself, his wife Keely, and his two sons, Dylan and Paris. He reportedly made the legal filing after authorities failed to resolve the situation.

Brosnan has called the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department twice to try and get the woman off his property. However, the police were unable to arrest the woman as she was only staying outside her home and advised her to file for a civil restraining order.

Pierce Brosnan Almost Batman

Although Brosnan is famous for his phenomenal portrayal of the fictional spy James Bond, many do not know that he almost embodied another famous character. Unfortunately, he lost the role for making a “stupid” comment.

The 70-year-old may join the DC Universe as Batman, Gotham City’s beloved knight in the 1989 iteration of the superhero film.

Despite having the looks and talent to pull it off, she ruined her chances because of her unfiltered words to Tim Burton, the film’s director.

“I went for Batman the day Tim Burton did it. Obviously, I didn’t get the job,” Brosnan said. He went on to say:

“I remember saying something stupid to Tim Burton; I said, ‘You know I can’t understand any man who would wear underwear outside his pants.’ But that’s it… the best man gets the job.”

Although his unfiltered comments didn’t make him Batman, Brosnan went on to star as the iconic James Bond in the “Bond” franchise from 1995 to 2002. He was the fifth actor to capture the role, taking over from Timothy Dalton.

After four 007 films, Brosnan passed the torch to Daniel Craig. She has spoken about her replacement regime in candid interviews, praising her as a “very strong” actress but admitting that she wasn’t a fan of the actor’s last film, “No Time to Die.”

As for who will take over after Craig, Brosnan insists that he doesn’t care about the 007 studio’s next choice for the Bond character. However, he stated:

“It will be interesting to see who they get, who the guy is. Whoever he is, I wish him well.”
