His toy story has a happy ending.
A pilot flew an American Girl doll 5,880 miles from Tokyo to Texas — to reunite the doll with the 9-year-old who lost her.
James Danen of American Airlines first learned of Valentina Dominguez’s missing doll through her parents’ Facebook post, according to WFAA-TV.
Rudy and Celeste Dominguez last saw the doll on their plane in Tokyo, where the family stopped on their way back to their home in Plano, Texas, after a trip to Bali, Indonesia.
Danen, who is based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, contacted Turkish Airlines lost and found at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and found the missing toy.
He then travels with the doll, named Beatrice, and also takes pictures of her along their journey, which he sends to Valentina.
“It’s my nature. I like to help people… that’s all I like to do,” Danen told the outlet.
“I’m very happy to be able to do something good for someone.”

On August 21, three weeks after the toy went missing, the pilot – who lives just a few miles from the Dominguez family – drove the doll to their home and handed it to Valentina.
“Was he well behaved on the flight?” asked the young girl. “Very good behavior, yes,” he replied.
He also presents her with some Japanese dishes and a map that tracks all the places where Beatrice has been.

“[Beatrice] means a lot to me. He brings me happiness and he is my best friend,” Valentina told “Good Morning America.” “When he disappeared, when we settled in our hotel, I felt very sad. I felt like my heart was broken.”
His father Rudy is grateful for Danen’s epic attitude.
“I think it’s another sign that there’s a lot of good in this world,” he told “GMA.” “I’m very happy that Jim was able to help us and thank him.”
