The singer, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, said during the interview that she had many questions to ask the Vietnam War veteran who died at the age of 75 in August 2021 from prostate cancer.

During an exclusive interview with People Magazine, the “What About Us” singer opened up about her grief after losing her father.

Expressing her feelings, she said, “When a daughter loses her father, your first thought is, ‘No one will ever love me like that again,’ and it’s a very lonely feeling.” Adding, he said, “I wish I could talk to him sometimes and ask him more questions.”

Dismissing his gaze at the questions, she said, “’Do you like me’? As a parent, you have to let your children make their own choices. You sometimes want to stop them, but you realize you can’t, And I realize now that my father, in many ways, withheld many of his true opinions so that I could make my own choices. I want to ask, ‘What are you really thinking’?”

As Pink continues to miss her beloved father, she chooses to honor his legacy the best way she can — through music. The singer revealed that his new album, “Trustfall,” contains songs that serve as tributes to late veterans. He revealed that the song resonated with him when he received it from the original writer.

In his words, “They sent me the song after he passed, and I feel like it’s a gift. I’ll never be able to write that song again. I haven’t unpacked the suitcase yet. I don’t think I will for a while. But it is a simple, beautiful song, and I love the idea that he might be in a good place.”

The bond between Pink and the late Moore is undeniable. The singer previously revealed in a 2007 interview that the war veteran was one of his earliest supporters when he decided to pursue music professionally. He said, “He was my first rock star.”

Pink seems to have continued the legacy of celebrating her father at any chance she gets. According to The Blast, the mother of two recently shared a photo of her father with a short note that read, “Miss you, Dad” on her Instagram page.

The emotional post dedicated to the late veteran shows the singer as an infant trying to climb onto his father’s lap as he positions himself to play the guitar. Accompanying the image is a 15-second smooth jazz song.

Apart from being emotionally devastated after the loss of her father, the Grammy award-winning artiste has also struggled with weight gain like many entertainers in the showbiz industry.

Pink revealed during an interview with “Variety” that she gained and lost 36 pounds during the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening up, she said, “Rest is good for my voice. Not so good for the body. Especially during COVID – I’ve gained 36 pounds. All I do is make tamarind and then eat the tamarind.”

He did, however, state that he lost those 36 pounds and became stronger than he had ever been in his life.
