Pony Verma aka Rashmi Verma was born on Thursday, 15 September 1977 (age 45 years; in 2022) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He was born prematurely, and his skin was soft and wrinkled, so his grandmother gave him the name Pony, which comes from the Punjabi word Pona, the cloth used to keep chapatis. Later, he changed his name to Pony Verma. His zodiac sign is Virgo. He attended Ulama Academy school, which he left in 1993. He completed his studies at Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College. He later became a famous choreographer in the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film industries. He was passionate about dancing since childhood, and he later became a professional choreographer.

Career
In an interview, he credits Tamil film director Priyadarshan and cinematographer S. Kumar for helping him during his early years. His debut film as a choreographer was Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar in 2000. He worked as a choreographer in the superhit Hindi film Hungama in 2003, in Garam Masala in 2005, in Bhool Bhulaiyaa in 2007, in Chandni Chowk to China in 20009, in The2009. 11, and in Tiger Zinda Hai in 2018. He worked as a choreographer in the Telugu film Badrinath in 2011 and in the Tamil film Abhiyum Naanum in 2008.

He worked as a choreographer for the reality show ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’, which aired on Colors TV. He worked in the dance show Chak Dhoom Dhoom as a judge with famous choreographers Saroj Khan and Bosco Caeser, aired on Colors TV, as a judge in the dance reality show Bharat Ki Shan aired on Doordarshan, and as a judge in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaapark UAE season 5 aired along with Sandip TV Color in Sopark UAE.
