According to the actor’s fiancee, Ganios underwent surgery on Saturday to treat a spinal cord infection at a NY hospital. While recovering the next day, the 64-year-old suffered a heart attack and died.

A message from Ganios’ fiancee shared on X (formerly Twitter) read: “It’s not true for me right now. It’s so fast. He was not feeling well and hid it from me for several days. When he finally told me, and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was badly infected. They operated, the next morning, his heart stopped. I’m crushed.”
