Ron Jeremy, the former porn star accused of sexually assaulting multiple women, will be released from prison to “private residence” as his health worsens, nearly a year after he was officially declared incompetent to stand trial.
A California judge granted the 70-year-old’s request to be placed in a private residence to receive “round-the-clock medical care” after “no medical facility would take him,” according to emails obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
Friday’s decision came after Los Angeles County Deputies. Atty. Paul Thompson shared the email with Jeremy’s victim, explaining that his “medical condition had deteriorated to the point where he was basically bedridden.”
Thompson expressed frustration at the final stage of the case against Jeremy’s accuser, saying the outcome was “outside” of his control in an email, according to the outlet.
“I feel very sad that this is where we are, but it is out of our control. His mental and physical condition deteriorated rapidly, and we had no other choice,” he wrote. “I’m sorry we couldn’t get full justice for you in court.”

Jeremy’s lawyer shared that his “private residence” is still unknown.
Concerns over the accused’s declining health concerns began when his criminal defense attorney, Stu Goldfarb, told the judge his client did not recognize him.
“He is not fit to go [on] trial and he was not found guilty, but he was charged with a serious crime. What did you do with him?” Goldfarb said, according to the outlet.
“Most importantly, how do you protect people, and just as importantly, how do you protect their civil rights? He ended up in a secure facility, so people aren’t at risk and he doesn’t need to be put in jail.”

Jeremy, whose real name is Ron Jeremy Hyatt, was first charged with multiple sexual assault charges in 2020 when four women accused him of assaulting them at a bar along West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip.
The allegations against Jeremy erupted after dozens of women called the LA County Sheriff’s Department with allegations of groping and rape spanning decades, including one alleging he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old at a party in Santa Clarita, according to the outlet.
As of 2021, thirty-four criminal charges have been brought against Jeremy based on allegations by 23 different women, with the oldest dating back to 1996.

The victims ranged in age from 15 to 51, with many accusing Jeremy of luring them into a small space, often the bathroom of a West Hollywood bar, and sexually assaulting them.
The Rainbow Room Bar & Grill is alleged to have been the haunt of the former adult film star and is now being sued by several women for negligence over Jeremy’s alleged behavior there, according to Rolling Stone.
In February, the skin icon was committed to a state mental hospital in California after Superior Court Judge Ronald Harris ruled that Jeremy was incompetent to assist in his defense.

“When he was arrested two years ago, I said he would be found innocent of all charges,” Goldfarb told the Associated Press in an email in January.
“Two years have passed and with the additional findings I have received, I believe he will be found innocent. Unfortunately due to his mental condition he will not be tried and have the opportunity to clear his name,” he added.
Jeremy has denied all wrongdoing.
