Posani Krishna Murali was born on Wednesday, 22 January 1958 (age 65 years; in 2023) in Pedakakani, Andhra Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Aquarius. Posani went to school in Guntur district. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce. Later, he studied Master of Arts at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur. Posani then pursued his Masters in Philosophy at Presidency College in Bengaluru. Career
Movie
After graduation, Posani worked at Margadarsi Chit Fund company based in Hyderabad. He worked there for a year after which he resigned and moved to Guntur. Later, he moved to Chennai and worked as an assistant director for Paruchuri Gopala Krishna.
Assistant Screenwriter
He joined the writing team of writing duo Paruchuri Brothers as an assistant writer. For five years, Posani assisted Paruchuri Brothers with more than 100 films. In 1992, he left his job and he wrote the story and dialogues for a Telugu film titled Police Brothers, directed by Mohan Gandhi. Later, he worked as a screenwriter for several films including Gaayam (1993) and Rakshana (1993). He worked as a screenwriter for the movie Alluda Majaka (1995). Later, Posani worked on several hit films including Pavitra Bandham (1996) and Preminchukundam Raa (1997).
Director-Publisher
He made his directorial debut with the film Sravanamasam in 2005. He also worked as the writer and producer of this film. Later, he worked as a director and writer for several films including Operation Duryodhana (2007), Apadamokkulavadu (2008), and Dushasana (2011).

He appeared in many Telugu films including Temper (2015), James Bond (2015), Saakshyam (2018), Most Eligible Bachelor (2021), Itlu Amma (2021), and 18 Pages (2022). Posani appeared in the Indian Kannada-language action film Kabzaa, which hit theaters on March 17, 2023.

Politics
On 3 January 2009, he joined the Praja Rajyam Party ahead of the 2009 General elections. In 2009, he contested and lost the Andhra Pradesh state assembly election from Chilakaluripet constituency on a Praja Rajyam Party ticket. In 2011, Posani parted ways with the Praja Rajyam Party and joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party. On 3 November 2022, Posani Krishna Murali was appointed as the chairman of Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation.
Controversy
Caught up with Pawan Kalyan
On the night of September 29, 2021, two unidentified men on a motorcycle pelted stones at Posani Krishna Murali’s house in Yellareddyguda. Earlier in the day, Posani held a press meet at Somajiguda press club where he criticized actor-politician Pawan Kalyan for supporting the Andhra Pradesh government. Later, he held another meeting where he reported that he was abused by more than 5000 people for his statement about Pawan Kalyan. In this encounter, Posani was physically attacked by some unknown persons. On 30 September 2021, Posani filed a complaint at the SR Nagar Police Station for the same, following which the police arrested the criminals who attacked him. Posani held a press meet the next day where he used the words loafer and broker for Pawan Kalyan. He also claimed that Kalyan’s fans were behind the attack on his house. Reportedly, Posani said that if he is killed in this controversy, Pawan Kalyan and his fans will be responsible for his death.
