Powerball jackpot rises to estimated $572M after no winner in December 18 drawing

The Powerball jackpot continued to grow after no ticket matched all six numbers Monday night to claim the $544 million top prize.

The jackpot is currently at an estimated $572 million – with a one-off cash payout option of $286.7 million – heading into Wednesday night’s draw.

The winning numbers drawn Monday night were 5, 8, 19, 34 and 39 with the red Powerball number 26.

The Power Play option is 3X. There is a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning the top prize, according to the game.

Two lucky winners – one in North Carolina and the other in New York – won $1 million after matching all five white numbers, the game announced Monday night.

The last time a Powerball player claimed a winning jackpot was in the Oct. 11 draw when a Californian claimed a $1.765 billion prize – the second largest jackpot ever offered by the game.
