Prahlad Modi’s wife, Bhagwatiben Modi, died on May 1, 2019 of a heart attack at the age of 55. Before his death, he was undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad for some time. Bhagwati Ben has problems related to blood pressure, kidneys, and diabetes that have left him paralyzed.

- In an interview, Prahlad revealed that he met PM Modi only three times between 2006 and 2014, and he has not met him since becoming the Prime Minister. In an interview in 2019, while talking about his brother Narendra Modi, Prahlad said,
We don’t meet often or talk on the phone, but we have a good relationship…He has dedicated his life to the welfare of the country. We haven’t met even though he came to Gandhinagar to seek our mother’s blessings after he took the oath last year. I am a shopkeeper. I do not enjoy any special rights or privileges as the younger brother of the prime minister. Yes, as a protocol I have been provided with security.”

On December 27, 2022, Prahlad Modi’s car met with an accident at 2 pm when he was on his way to Bandipura, Karnataka. Reportedly, he was accompanied by his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson when the car hit the divider following which Prahlad Modi’s grandson sustained a fracture in his leg. The other members were then rushed to JS Hospital Mysuru and sustained minor injuries.
