Pranshu (2007-2023) was an Indian social media influencer who made headlines after he committed suicide. She openly identifies as transgender and supports the Pride movement.

Pranshu (Queer) aka Priyanshu Yadav aka Priyanshu Yaduvanshi aka Pranshu Yadav was born in 2007 (age 16; at time of death) in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India. He attended Ujjain Public School, Ujjain for his schooling. While studying at school, he became a social media influencer.

His father’s name is Rajendra Yadav, and his mother’s name is Preeti Yadav who is a medical representative. Priyanshu’s parents separated in 2019 after which Priyanshu started living with his mother. He is the only child of his parents.

Influence of Social Media
She started making Instagram videos in 2021 where she often teaches makeup. Her mother was surprised when she told her that she wanted to be a makeup artist; however, she agreed to his enthusiasm as she was impressed by the work of Pranshu’s favorite makeup artist and YouTuber, James Charles.
Over time, she became popular for her makeup tutorials and often promotes many makeup brands on her Instagram page ‘Glamitupwithpranshu.’ At the time of his death, he had more than 25 thousand followers on his Instagram page.

Death
Pranshu posted a video on Instagram on the occasion of Diwali in 2023 in which she wore a saree for which she was beaten by many people.
She committed suicide on 21 November 2023, at the age of 16, by hanging herself with her mother’s dupatta at her home. He was studying in 10th grade at that time. Allegedly, he took this extreme step because of the hateful comments and trolling he faced on his social media. After his death, many LGBTQ+ groups took to social media to demand justice and mourn his death. Several gatherings were also held to pay tribute to Pranshu. His mother said after his death that she was proud of her son and felt alone after his death.
Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju, an Indian transgender actress and content creator, posted on Instagram that social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are not safe for LGBTQ+ people.
