Harpal Singh, popularly known as Preet Harpal, is a Punjabi singer, model, lyricist and actor who rose to prominence with his Punjabi song “Lock Up.”

Preet Harpal was born on 31 March 1975 (age 44 years; as in 2019) in Gurdaspur, Punjab. His zodiac sign is Aries. He is a quiet and shy child. Preet had a deep interest in music since his childhood and while in his college, he used to write songs in the middle of the night while sitting in his drawing room.

Harpal started his singing career in 1997 with the music album “Hasle Vairne Hasle.” After that, he released many albums but he received fame only in 2009 with his very popular song “Lock Up”. He later released many hit songs including “Goodbye,” “Att Goriye,” “Black Suit,” “Kangna,” “Yaar Berozgar,” “Wang,” and “Pagg Wali Selfie.”
Preet made his debut in the Punjabi film industry in 2012 with the film “Sirphire.” Next, he appeared in “Myself Pendu.” In 2019, Harpal appeared in the Punjabi film “Lukan Michi” opposite Mandy Takhar.

Controversy
- Preet attracted controversy because of the lyrics of his song “Rang” where he disrespected Sri Guru Granth Sahib. However, the singer later released a video response to the controversy and clarified that the song was taken the wrong way and he never intended to hurt anyone’s feelings. He also reads the lyrics of his songs and explains each line of the song.
- In 2015, Preet Harpal courted controversy after he claimed that Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa had copied his song and replaced his father’s name in the song while performing live at Nakoder Mela 2015.
