A nine-month pregnant woman who was kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7. likely to give birth in captivity, Israeli officials said.
The woman is assumed to have given birth because 39 days have passed since her abduction, and is not based on confirmed information, the Times of Israel explained.
The woman – who has not been publicly named – is one of at least 240 men, women and children believed to have been taken from southern Israel to the Gaza Strip during last month’s deadly Hamas terror attack.
Israeli officials released news of the possible birth on Monday, the same day representatives from the Israel Defense Forces visited the family of Cpl. Noa Marciano after Hamas published a creepy video of himself.
The footage shows the 19-year-old giving identifying information and pleading with the Israeli army to stop the retaliatory bombardment of Gaza – and then cuts to an image of his dead body.

The IDF denounced the video as “psychological violence” and vowed that it “uses all means … to bring [surviving] the hostages return.”
On Wednesday, mediators in Qatar proposed a deal in which Israel would release some Palestinian women and children from prison and increase the amount of humanitarian aid allowed into Gaza in exchange for the release of about 50 hostages.
Hamas has agreed to the general terms of the deal, but Israel is still negotiating the details, the officials said.
