Statements during the Anni Murder Case Trial
Preyen Dewani was a detective for his brother Shrien Dewani during the trial of Anni’s murder from 2010 to 2014. Preyen was the first person Shrien Dewani called after his taxi hijacking in South Africa. Until then, Shrien was supported emotionally and supported by Preyen Dewani as the detective of the murder case.
During the court hearing, Preyen was caught making insulting remarks about South Africans on tape when he spoke to Anni Dewani’s parents. It was rumored then that Dewani’s family would benefit from an insurance policy after Anni Dewani’s death. However, Preyen Dewani denied all the allegations and immediately offered a large amount of money in the name of the Hindocha family.
