A “grateful” Prince Harry has opened up about his visit to his father, King Charles III, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
In an interview with “Good Morning America,” Harry admitted to loving his family and mentioned that Charles’ diagnosis would help reunite the family.
The king was diagnosed with cancer earlier this month and has since begun treatment along with suspending all his “public-facing” duties.

Speaking in an interview on Friday’s episode of “Good Morning America,” Harry broke his silence following his visit to the monarch, who recently made headlines for his shocking cancer diagnosis.
The Duke of Sussex told his host, Will Reeve, that he “loved” his family and was “grateful” to be able to “get on a plane and go see him and spend time with him” after he heard the news.
When asked whether Charles’s diagnosis would lead to a lasting resolution to the strained relationship between his family and the royal firm, Harry replied emphatically. However, he did not reveal whether he plans to tour again soon.
“At all. Yes, I’m sure,” replied the 39-year-old Invictus Games founder. “Throughout all this [Invictus Games] family, I see it day by day the strength of the united family unit. I think any illness, any illness brings families together.”
King Charles Was Diagnosed With Cancer Earlier This Month

Buckingham Palace revealed earlier this month that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, adding that it was unrelated to previous treatment for his enlarged prostate.
According to an official statement, the king has since “started a regular treatment schedule,” which will prevent him from attending “publicly facing duties.” However, he will “continue to conduct state affairs and official paperwork as usual.”
It goes on to state why the king chose to share his cancer diagnosis with the public rather than keep it a secret.
The statement added, “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis in order to avoid speculation and in the hope that it will help general understanding for all people around the world affected by cancer.”
At the time, it was reported that both her sons, Harry and Prince William, had been told privately of her cancer diagnosis.
It remains to be seen whether her illness will prevent her from attending very important royal events, such as marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day in June. A possible date for his return to full duty has also not yet been revealed.
Prince Harry Visits The King Without His Wife, Meghan Markle

Days after the King’s diagnosis became public, Harry stepped out to see the king without his wife, Meghan Markle.
It was reported that Harry’s immediate visit to Britain “demonstrates the seriousness” of the King’s condition and that the monarch even informed the prince of his diagnosis before it became public.
The Duke’s last meeting with his father was at his coronation in May last year, and before that, he only saw him at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
Meghan attended the Queen’s funeral but was conspicuously absent from the King’s coronation, reportedly because it coincided with Archie’s birthday. Why she did not accompany Harry on his visit to the King after his cancer diagnosis remains unclear.

After returning to his residence in California from his visit to see his father, Harry once again wandered out. His trip, which Meghan also joined, was to Canada for the One Year to Go celebrations for the Vancouver Whistler 2025 Invictus Games.
The two met with participants in the country’s Winter Training Camp, including team managers, coaches and competitors. The gathering also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in winter acclimatization sports experiences ahead of next year’s upcoming competition on 8–16 February 2025.
Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick service personnel. Previous editions have been held in Orlando, Toronto, Sydney, and the most recent in the Netherlands and Germany.
The upcoming edition will mark the first winter sports edition, as previous editions have all been held in summer or autumn. It will also feature sports such as alpine skiing, nordic skiing, curling and skeleton, alongside more typical sports such as volleyball, swimming, basketball and rugby.
