Prince Harry and Meghan Markle initially “clicked” because of each other’s “society”, according to a royal expert.
Biographer and royal expert Tom Quinn said the Duke of Sussex, 39, bonded with the “Suits” alum, 42, because “he doesn’t have a bigger role” in his family.
“I think that’s why he clicked with Meghan because she comes from a society where if you work hard and you’re talented, you can make it to the top,” Quinn told the Express.
Quinn, who wrote “Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family,” said Harry has always played “second fiddle” to his older brother Prince William, who is first in line to the throne.
“You cannot change the fact that William and Kate [Middleton] is number one,” Quinn said.
And the feeling of being an afterthought in the monarchy may have contributed to his desire to take on a new relationship, Quinn suggests.

“All Harry’s complaints are about the fact that he’s not number one, he doesn’t have a bigger role,” shared the expert.
“It’s obvious when you think about it, but I think he thought he could go into the royal family and be a star.”
“And of course, he is [Meghan] cannot be because the royal structure is medieval, it is rigid,” he added.

Quinn claimed that the couple’s relationship may have started over Harry’s ongoing royal woes, and Markle’s lust for the “American dream.”
Harry, who is now fifth in line to the throne, was not left behind in his memoir “Spare” released in January.
In the protocol-busting book, the exiled prince details his experience of feeling second best, even claiming he was only raised to offer a literal spare for his brother in case his heir needed a new organ.

“Two years older than me, Willy was the Heir, while I was the Spare,” he wrote of his 41-year-old brother William.
“I was a shadow, a support, a Plan B. I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy.”
He said he understood his role was to be a “diversion” and “distraction” from his brother – or to provide, “if necessary, a spare” to him.
“Kidney, maybe. Blood transfusion. Bone marrow fragments,” he added in detail.
