Reports have stated that all together sold over 400,000 copies in the Duke of Sussex’s birthplace and over a million combined in US and Canadian sales.
The book was first announced by the publisher in 2021 and has since generated some discussion online. Ahead of its launch, Prince Harry shared in an interview that the point of the book was not to hurt his family but to tell the truth.

Gina Centrello, president of Random House Group, echoed similar sentiments when the book was released.
He said, per news, “Looking at these incredible first day sales, readers clearly agree, replace is a book that demands to be read, and it is a book that we are proud to publish.”
The release comes after several snippets of it were leaked before the official day, including an accidental sale in Spain five days before the date.

“Nothing I’ve written, nothing I’ve included has ever been intended to hurt my family,” he said during a 60 Minutes interview on Sunday with TV personality Anderson Cooper, per Daily Mail.
He added, “But it gives a full picture of what it was like when we were growing up, and also defuses this idea that somehow my wife is the one who destroyed the relationship between these two brothers.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Harry shared that he still loves his brother despite their differences over the years.
He said, “Um, you know, me and my brother love each other. I love him so much. There was a lot of pain between the two of us, especially the last six years.”
