The royal author claimed that the Prince of Wales masterminded the campaign by leaking information about the couple to the media. This, in turn, allegedly sparked the sensation that engulfed Sussex and provided material for the next wave of headlines.
However, a source close to Willaim has denied that he ever had any deal with the media, saying that he “always keeps his mouth shut when it comes to his family.”
Alternative sources stated that the claims made by Scobie were “completely fabricated”, adding that he was peddling “conspiracy theories masquerading as fact.”

Scobie’s new book also reveals about the Sussexes, claiming that they are “still hurting” and that there has been a delay in bestowing royal titles on their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The author reportedly wrote that the couple felt that their children should receive their royal titles shortly after the ascension of King Charles, as this was the usual convention.
However, this did not happen in the first months of King Charles’ reign. It ended up taking about six months, although King Charles reportedly told Prince Harry that the change would be made in early 2023.
The delay has reportedly frustrated the Sussexes and led them to believe that their children are being treated differently than their cousins—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who are the children of Prince William and Kate. Scobie also mentioned that Harry and Meghan are finding it difficult to reconcile this difference in treatment.

He also stated that “twisting the facts and misquoting” had “reached a new level of desperation” and that he planned to set the record straight during interviews to publicize his book.
In the meantime, the royal government has yet to issue an official statement regarding the book and seems to be taking the high road.
