Controversy
Accused of Raping Actor Priyansu Singh
On 29 August 2023, Priyansu Singh, her co-actor, accused Puneet Singh Rajput of raping her several times and filed an FIR against him. In an interview, he talked about how he first connected with her, and how he came to her house and tried to rape her. He said,
When I was successful in my career, I met Puneet Singh Rajput on social media. He started a conversation and was very sweet and polite to me at first. Because he wanted to enter the film industry, I helped him get a job through my acquaintances. Days passed, and he fully held my trust. He always said that he would marry me. After some time, he also started visiting my place; he actually moved into my environment. One day, when I was alone, he suddenly came to my house drunk and forced me to do physical activity. The next morning, when he woke up, I cried and told him about the previous night and the violent act. I also warned him that I would go to the police station. He cried and apologized to me, and he also consoled me by saying that he will marry me soon after he convinces his family. But Puneet did the same again. He again forced himself on me. I had to do something I didn’t want to do. He grabbed my hair and made me do inappropriate things.”
