Lil’ Kim is still Queen Bee! As the rap queen of the 90s, she’s still got it going and proved it at the Barclays Center on Sunday afternoon.

Although the rapper has only performed a handful of times in 2023 so far, she gave an amazing performance to a sold-out crowd at halftime of the WNBA Finals Game 3 in Brooklyn.

With 2023 marking 50 years of hip-hop, it also marks nearly 30 years since Lil’ Kim, 49, dropped her debut album, “Hard Core.” First discovered by the Notorious BIG, he is known by many generations and makes a great addition to the wild Finals series between the No. 1 Las Vegas Aces and the No. 2 New York Liberty.

Lil’ Kim’s much-anticipated performance on the Barclays Center court was greeted with excitement by an excited crowd. After an exciting first half of Game 3, fans were ready for an energetic performance by Brooklyn native Queen Bee.

Queen Bee brought energy to the arena with a nearly five-minute performance that included many of her hit songs. Along with her dancers and a special appearance by Liberty’s mascot, Ellie the Elephant, Lil’ Kim made the crowd go wild.

Gearing up for his performance in the first half, the rapper shared information about his Finale show on Instagram on Friday. With the caption, “NEW YORK CITY!!! Visit @barclayscenter this Sunday to watch our @nyliberty ? ? in the @wnba Finals. Let’s Light IT UP ? ? ?,” many of his fans took to the comments to share their joy.

Some asked about new music and others were just excited to hear the halftime show in his hometown of Brooklyn.

“QUEEN OF HIP HOP?❤️,” wrote one fan. Another added, “THE QUEEN ???WE NEED THAT ALBUM???????.”

This isn’t the first time Lil’ Kim has performed in the first half at Barclays Center. In 2021, he cashed in at halftime at a Brooklyn Nets game.

According to TMZ, the rapper was asked to perform as part of the team’s annual Women’s Empowerment Game which celebrates “the achievements, contributions and overall impact of women on our society.” He performed some of his biggest hits while wearing shiny Nets gear with the Brooklyn Nets dance team, the Brooklynettes, dancing with him.

Celebrating 50 years of hip-hop music, Lil’ Kim has been chosen to grace one of the five covers of EBONY Magazine for the big occasion. The cover was shared by the magazine on their Instagram page a few weeks ago and has received praise and reactions from fans.

“When it comes to this Hip Hop Game, you don’t want to mess with the bees and for nearly three decades, Lil Kim continues to show us why. From his days with Junior Mafia to now, he always gets it right with a bar that’s smoother than honey with a perfect charisma that’s impossible to replicate,” the caption reads.
