R. Kelly Is Looking For A Respite

The disgraced singer and his team have officially filed paperwork to appeal the federal sex crime charges he was charged with in New York City. While he has many reasons why this charge should be thrown out, the most important is that some of the jurors are already biased against him.
According to legal documents, the “Fiesta” singer was formally indicted in 2021 and has nine charges, including RICO charges, sex-related charges and human trafficking. Documents obtained by TMZ also details the raw deal Kelly received.
Kelly and his team claim that the government has not actually proven that he is guilty of anything. Yes, they make their case and say their opening and closing, but the team wants to know, what do they prove?
The Jury Sings Like Birds

Kelly and his legal team also pointed out that since the trial has ended, some jurors have boasted about never liking Kelly. The problem here is that this shows they have bad intentions towards the entertainer before the start of the trial.
Thus, making them more likely to vote to convict him when the discussion takes place, which… look where he is now. Specifically, they claim that at least four jurors have admitted to this malice, and two more have watched Still alive R. Kelly documentary on the Lifetime network.
Additionally, R. Kelly once again claimed that the girls identified by the government as minors who were victims of his grooming and molestation were all actually over 18! As for the girls who came forward as minors with evidence, Kelly’s team says they lied and misled him.
The Evidence Against R. Kelly Is Also Controversial

The singer and his team also have an explanation for all the evidence against Kelly. They believe that some of the evidence heard in the trial should not have been allowed in the courtroom, in particular, the details of her sex life and the STD talk surrounding it.
They think sex talk is a way for them to manipulate the jury. They also lashed out at Kelly’s former friends and employees who gave false testimony about matters that had nothing to do with them. This alone left Kelly and his team unimpressed with the way the trial ended.
It has prompted them to file an appeal to overturn his conviction or at least have a chance at a new trial. R. Kelly was also stuck with 20 years for his charges in Chicago. He has yet to appeal the matter, but after this move, it doesn’t seem like it’s really out of the question.
Kelly has always maintained his innocence in all charges filed against him and has fought tirelessly from prison.
