Rachel Zegler Feels Snow White’s Prince Is A Stalker

Over the years, the “kiss of true love” that the Prince gave to the “sleeping” Snow White has been a source of contention for many, given the lack of consent.
Zegler isn’t a fan of Prince either, as he can be heard saying in a recently resurfaced video, “I mean, you know, the original cartoon came out in 1937 and it’s very clear. There’s a big focus on his love story with a guy who’s really stalking him.”
At that time, “Shazam! The Fury of the Gods” actor spoke to “Extra: at the 2022 D23 Expo. After basically calling the prince a “stalker” Zegler laughed and added, “Weird! weird. We’re not doing it this time.”
He also explained what it meant, given that there was a male character in the film called Jonathan, saying, “We have a different approach to what I’m sure a lot of people would think of as a love story just because we’re playing a guy in the film, Andrew Burnap, a great friend . It’s one of those things where I think everyone will have their assumptions about what’s going to happen, but it’s really not about a love story at all, which is really, really beautiful.
Not everyone is a fan though, although one shouldn’t expect famous transphobe Matt Walsh to be a fan of anything!

Rachel Zegler Is Not A Fan Of Snow White At All!

Meanwhile, Zegler’s not only against the idea of the Prince lurking, he’s not a fan of “Snow White” as a whole. In another 2022 interview, this time with Entertainment Weekly, Zegler admitted that he had only seen the original animated film once and didn’t really like it. The interview also features Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen and is pretty kicked about the whole thing.
Said Zegler, “I was afraid of the original version. I think I watched it once and never picked it up again. I am very serious. I watched it once, and then I went on a ride at Disney World, called ‘Snow White’s Scary Adventure.’ It doesn’t sound like something a small child would like. I’m afraid of her, never visit Snow White again.”
In another interview, Zegler basically called the plot “dated” since it was written in 1937. The actor said that this time, “She won’t be saved by a prince and she won’t dream of true love. She dreams of being a leader who he knew he could be and the leader his late father told him he could be if he was brave, fair, brave and true.”
It seems many are calling out Zegler for “pseudo-feminism” and saying she doesn’t appreciate this “potentially life-changing role”.
TikTok user Angie recently uploaded a video that has generated nearly 10 million views since it was uploaded a few days ago, criticizing Zegler for being narrow-minded, writing, “Just because a woman values something different, doesn’t make her less valuable. Some women want a career instead of marriage. Some women want marriage or a family and not a job. Some women want BOTH. All should be heard, seen, and appreciated.”

Zegler apparently caught the attention of most Disney fans when one Twitter user wrote, “I’m starting to wonder if he’s ever seen the original movie. In general, the prince was in the film for about five minutes. It’s pretty hard to be a stalker with only five minutes of screen time. The real stalker in the movie is the evil Queen. You know, the one who keeps showing up where he is and trying to kill him.
