Raging airplane passenger defends her right to recline in latest flight dust-up: ‘I’m allowed!’

Fury is flying again in a reclining airplane seat – and this time a passenger is fighting for his airline-given rights.

Footage from the unidentified flight shows an unidentified woman tearing apart another passenger who allegedly spent the entire trip trying to push her seat upright.

“The whole way he pushed my chair!” the woman said in a thick southern accent to the couple sitting behind her, who raised their hands in defense of their actions.

“You’re both doing the same thing,” the man tried to tell the woman – but she never got the chance.

Eyes wide with anger, the woman rose to her feet and shouted in protest at the so-called rejecters.

“No, you saw it! You know he did! I was allowed to put my seat back! I was allowed to put my seat back!” he shouted as he punched his chest.

“I’m allowed. To. Place. me. seating. Go back!” he finally declared before turning around as the video cut away.

Regular debates are revealed in the comments.

“Sometimes it can be annoying to be behind someone with their seat all the way, but if the airline doesn’t want to allow it, it won’t happen,” wrote one man, John Hawkins, on X. “You don’t kick the seat like a baby . Blame the airlines, not the people who do what the airlines say is good.”

“I mean, if he’s not allowed to put his seat back, why can the seat be adjusted??” write another.

The move is a counterattack for pro-recliners, who suffered a blow in August when a woman was filmed successfully fighting a recliner by holding the seat in front of her upright with her hands on a transatlantic flight.

“Respect the person behind you,” the anti-berth passenger repeated four times in a condescending tone as the woman in front of him politely asked what was going on.

Experts remain divided on the lying down debate.

Diane Gottsman, an etiquette professional with the Protocol School of Texas, says lying down is rude “Unless you’re sitting in a seat with extra legroom, or in first class,” according to USA Today.

“Space is tight, and it’s common knowledge and not surprising that you’re going to be sitting in a tight spot,” he added.

Julia Esteve Boyd, an ethics coach from Switzerland, disagrees.

“It can be annoying or uncomfortable for people sitting in the back. However, it is reasonable to recline your seat if you want to,” Boyd told The Points Guy, adding that one should be mindful of what their seatmate is doing before raising or lowering their seat.
