Rajesh Puri is an Indian actor and director. He rose to fame by playing the role of ‘Lalit Prasad (Lalloo)’ in the TV serial “Hum Log” (1984). The TV series “Hum Log” is the first Indian TV series.

Rajesh Puri was born in New Delhi. He did his schooling from New Delhi’s Harcourt Butler Senior High School and went to Delhi University to further his studies.
After completing his studies, Rajesh enrolled himself at the National Drama School to study acting. While at NSD, Puri participated in several plays.

Career
Rajesh Puri started his acting career in 1983 by playing the role of ‘Kamdar’ in the Hindi comedy film “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro.” He made his television debut in 1984 with the TV serial “Hum Log” where he played the role of ‘Lalit Prasad (Lalloo).’
Next, he appeared in the TV series “Buniyaad” (1986).
He later appeared in films like “Diljalaa” (1987), “Dil” (1990), “Deedar” (1992), “Phool Aur Angaar” (1993), and “Dilwale” (1994).
Some of his popular TV series include “Yeh Duniya Ghazab Ki” (1990s), “Ek Se Badh Kar Ek” (1995), “Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki” (2019), and “Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki” (2018). .
Apart from movies and TV series, Rajesh has also appeared in stage plays like “Golmaal- The Play” and “Wrong Number.”
In 2019, he played the role of ‘Narad’ in India’s biggest Ramleela at Red Fort.

Although I have not allowed any of my work on the big screen, I really feel that I can really do more complex and diverse roles, and my work in theater is proof of that. It doesn’t matter that my character is only 15 minutes long, my character should be able to move the audience in an indescribable way.”
