Raju Pal is an Indian politician. He became a Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on a ticket from the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) in 2004. In 2005, he was shot dead in the Sulem Sarai area of Allahabad (now Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh.

Raju Pal entered politics in 2002 by contesting the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on a ticket from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). He lost the seat to gangster politician Atiq Ahmed. In November 2004, Raju won the by-election, defeating Atiq’s younger brother Ahmed Ashraf alias Khalid Azim, who represented the Allahabad West constituency on a ticket from the Samajwadi Party (SP).
Death
When Raju Pal defeated Ashraf in the 2004 by-election, he ended up becoming a threat to the political careers of Ashraf and Atiq Ahmed. Political rivalries somehow turned into personal rivalries. On 25 January 2005, while Raju Pal was returning from Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Allahabad, a car overtook his Qualis. Raju was attacked by a group of thugs in the Sulem Sarai area. According to sources, he was hit by about 18 bullets and two people, Sandeep Yadav and Devi Lal, who were with him were also shot dead. The assailants fired at another car, belonging to Raju Pal, injuring three more people named Ruksana, Saif alias Saifulla, and Om Prakash Pal. The murder was a sensational case that gained national attention, and Atiq was accused of being the mastermind behind it.

According to sources, Raju was attacked by Atiq Ahmed’s goons. Reportedly, the assailants hurled crude bombs at Umesh Pal and his two gunners.
