Dave East was reportedly pepper sprayed by Montreal police after his concert at Le Rouge Bar in Canada.
Although the circumstances that led the authorities to the scene remain unclear, a video shared on social media depicts the Police Service de la Ville de Montreal [SPVM] informed a patron in French that they would conduct a search on everyone present.
Dave East’s Pepper Spraying Incident Has Reaction From Social Media Users
What was supposed to be a good time quickly turned bad for Timur and several others after SPVM intercepted him on what looked like the street after his concert. In one footage uploaded, the American rapper is seen screaming as several people, including people behind the camera, tell him to “take a break.”
A whistle blows in the background as the person behind the camera moves back to cover the situation. As soon as the whistle stopped blowing, there was a haze that suggested the 35-year-old man was pepper-sprayed by an officer.
The act immediately drove the crowd away as spectators began covering their eyes and faces with their hands and hoodies. With the crowd gone, viewers are treated to the sight of Timur being pushed into the back of a stationary police car.
The “Phone Jumpin'” hitter’s head bowed forward as if in a trance while the official held his hands behind his back. Meanwhile, the individual can be heard shouting at officers in French as the incident continues, and police have driven away from the scene.
An eyewitness captioned their video, “Dave East was pepper sprayed in the face by Montreal police last night after the show.” The viral clip elicited various reactions from viewers. While one claimed, “Montreal went viral because s— this is not a good look,” another observed, “He took 2 steps back b4 they sprayed him. SUES!! Looks like he’s in the business front too.”
A third online native insists, “He forgot he wasn’t in New York. You can’t talk recklessly with the police out of that state or they’ll go to pound town.”
Taking a swipe at the SPVM, someone else explained, “The police are just abusing their power left and right. When will they start being held accountable? 9/10 they are the only ones who improve this situation. No one is aggressive except the police in this situation.”
“He really didn’t do anything so I hope he sues them,” yet another Instagram user shared, while a sixth online personality quipped, “All tough guys but can’t handle pepper spray,” and a seventh added , “He’s always involved in something.”

Dave East’s Earlier Encounters With Law Enforcement
The last time East was “involved” was on May 22, 2020, when he was arrested by police for possession of marijuana just hours before attending a close friend’s funeral.

As reported by The Blast, the father of one was a passenger in a car that the New York Police Department [NYPD] stop around 1 am on the date already mentioned.
Although the initial cause of the stop was the driver’s failure to signal a turn, responding law enforcement agents detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle after it stopped. They then removed a passenger identified as David Brewster, the rapper’s birth name, from the vehicle.
Timur, who was accused of being aggressive and disobeying officers, was then taken to the 114th precinct. However, his demeanor appeared different at the station, with police stating that he was cooperating with investigators by providing his ID.
He was later issued two summonses and received citations for disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana before being released. Later, the “Kind of Time” performer posted a video from the scene of the arrest, showing him being taken out of the car by the NYPD. In the clip, a brief scuffle between Timur and the officer can be seen.
After he declared that he did not fight back, the police proceeded to escort him to the police car. As the scene plays out, one woman exclaims, “No, no, no, please,” while another woman reminds her, “East, you have to be at the funeral tomorrow.”
The funeral was for his close friend, rapper Kiing Shooter, who died of complications related to COVID-19 on May 5.
