Rapper Jeezy has finally spoken out about the state of his marriage to Jeannie Mai after filing for divorce from the former talk show host “The Real.”

Although the couple split, they reportedly still live together at their home in Georgia.

Atlanta rapper Jeezy has broken his silence on his shocking split from his wife of two years, Jeannie Mai.
The music artist filed for divorce from Mai in Fulton County Superior Court in September. At the time, it was claimed that the TV personality was unaware of her husband’s intention to end their marriage.
In a statement released through his representative, the rapper claimed that the decision “was not made impulsively and came with a heavy heart.”
He stated that “his love and respect for Jeannie is eternal and the time we spent together holds a precious place in my heart.”
The rapper continued, “Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship and I am committed to making sure she feels the love and stability she deserves. During this time, I ask that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”

Jeezy and Mai married in March 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic in an intimate ceremony held at their home in Atlanta. The two first met when Jeezy appeared as a guest on his talk show “The Real.”
“Years later, he asked me out,” said Mai Vanity Fair. “We shared a romantic sushi dinner in Los Angeles and salsa danced the night away. That evening, he asked if I could imagine spending the rest of my life with him. And crazy enough, I can.”
Since their split, it has been claimed that the estranged couple still live together in their Georgia home but rarely interact with each other.
A source told TMZ about their living situation, “Jeezy and Jeannie still live together in Georgia, but there’s very little interaction between them — they cross paths when they go in and out of the house, but that’s about it.”
Jeannie Mai Congratulates Jeezy On His Memoir
Mai and Jeezy, who have a two-year-old daughter, Monaco, also had a prenuptial agreement that allegedly went against the talk show host.
Separated couples often share their love and family stories on social media. Just before Jeezy filed for divorce, Mai took to her Instagram page to celebrate the rapper’s success following his memoir, Distress For Sale, became a New York Times bestseller.
“Today I celebrate the extraordinary achievement of my husband, @jeezy, whose memoir ‘Adversity For Sale’ has soared to the New York Times bestseller list,” Mai wrote in her caption.
“This moment is not just a testament to your baby’s literary skills, but a recognition of your ability to inspire through the power of storytelling. I am forever grateful for your voice in this world. Honored to walk beside you, my love.”

After Jeezy’s surprise filing, Jeannie reportedly invested considerable effort into healing the rift and finding common ground to save their marriage.
In September, sources told People magazine that she was “hurt and devastated” by the rapper’s decision to divorce, adding, “She got married to stay married” and was “committed to trying to save her marriage.”
“They have had problems for a long time, but things have become very difficult in recent months,” another source said. “He spends most of his time in Atlanta, and he’s flying back and forth between there and LA. He’s backing off a little bit and trying to spend more time in Atlanta working on their issues.”
The source added, “He obviously knows they have problems, but he doesn’t expect a divorce. Now he is trying to figure out what his future will look like and where he will live.”
