“My name is Raven Suh-moan” a follower of the trend reminded the actress of Raven’s House. Many others phonetically expressed how Raven trained us on how to say her name. Since so many people were fired up, Raven jumped online to address all the backlash and even got a few laughs out of it.

Raven jumped on TikTok to explain why she shared the happy news and how surprised she was at the conversation it sparked.
“Yo, people here are so mad because I never said ‘hi my name is Raven Sy-mon-ye and what Disney channel do you watch’. No, I didn’t do that,” he admitted. “At a very young age I was told to tell everyone my name was Raven Symone and it never left my body,” she explained.
He downplayed the situation as he went on to explain that he was only reminded of how his name was pronounced when he went to a “French-speaking country” and remembered “it’s spelled that way and that’s how it’s pronounced.”
He moved the camera to the busy, busy streets of Los Angeles. “But coming here, to where I live, Raven Symone is fine.” He confirmed for those willing to poke holes in his explanation.
“I don’t trip, I don’t correct people but the correct spelling of my name is Raven Sy-Mon-Ye, but, you can call me Raven Symone, I don’t trip.”

Raven did get weird backlash and jokes about her name but she wasn’t wrong, there was an accent on the ‘e’ in Symone’s name. This indicates to native French speakers and those learning the language that there is an emphasis on the letter and that it should be heard at the end.
However, as Raven said, she didn’t care about that and just thought it would be a fun fact to share with her followers and fans.
Even after this, Raven fans still found something to joke about in her follow-up video. It’s light and fun but still entertaining.
