During a recent appearance on the “Howie Mandel Does Stuff” podcast, Raven-Symoné reflected on her dating experience. The actress revealed to Mandel that she makes every couple she’s ever signed an NDA before or during their relationship. An NDA is a non-disclosure agreement to ensure privacy, especially for celebrities.

He said, per Page Six, “All my relationships, especially – obviously – when I started dating, I had to get people to sign NDAs. It took me a while to wrap my head around it because it’s so impersonal, but someone in our position has to do that.”

Mandel then asked Symoné when she presented the NDA document exactly in the timeline of the relationship. The “That’s So Raven” star replied, “Before the naughty times. No, I’m serious — before the naughty times. Welcome to being a celebrity in Hollywood these days.”

Symoné added, “It’s true that even nowadays, hashtags, real life, they change the dynamic of having an intimate relationship with someone.” Many celebrities are known for their use of NDAs, both in relationships and in business, such as Taylor Swift, Tom Cruise and Mariah Carey.

During her conversation with Mandel, Symoné also recalled when she had to ask Pearman-Maday to sign an NDA. The actor said he waited almost two months into their relationship and finally submitted the papers to his now wife.

He said, “We were in New York. We were in this outdoor French restaurant, and my mom was bugging me. She was like, ‘You’ve got to get it signed. I was like, ‘He’s from the industry.’ And my mom bothered me. I was reluctant because I knew there was something different about Miranda.”

According to Symoné, Pearman-Maday felt the same way and refused to sign the agreement. He agreed that they had “something different” but ended up signing because he knew it was beyond their control. Symoné says, “We’re both like, ‘This takes away from the authenticity of everything, but we also understand that we live in Hollywood.’
