He worked as a trainee illustrator at Drawing Room Media from May 2012 to July 2012. He worked as a senior illustrator at White Mice Media from June 2013 to August 2014 and at Satyabhawna Production from October 2014 to August 2016.

In an interview, Ravi Gupta talked about his inspiration to start doing stand-up comedy and said that he was working as an illustrator in a corporate company in 2015 but he was not satisfied with the work as he found it very boring and unfulfilling. . He saw interviews of many actors on television who often promoted the theater; however, Ravi was not good at acting and did not consider it as an alternative career option.

He had seen standup comedians Zakir Khan and Amit Tandon and became interested in doing standup comedy. Ravi sent a message to Zakir Khan on Instagram who responded and encouraged him to follow his passion. Although Ravi didn’t quit his job, he started doing stand-up comedy at night in bars and clubs while working at his job during the day.

He later also started uploading stand-up comedy videos on social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok. Although initially, his videos did not become popular initially, his video ‘Mai Kal Ki Chinta Nahi Karta’ became popular on TikTok after Bollywood star Riteish Deshmukh made his video reel.
