Ray J and his wife, Puteri Love, are giving their marriage another chance after filing for divorce three times since May 2020.
In August 2016, the couple tied the knot in Los Angeles, and two years later, they welcomed their daughter Melody Love before their son Epik Ray was born in January 2020.
Their marriage was certainly not the easiest. However, they overcame the challenge and recently opened up about them, revealing why they couldn’t get through any of their divorces.

Ray J and Love attended the 2023 BET Awards hand in hand at the Microsoft Theater in LA, where they presented the award for Best New Artist. While on the red carpet, the couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other, engaging in a heated PDA session.
On stage, the talented songwriter had only the most endearing words for his beloved saying, “Love wins. I love you dear. Listen, try to compromise, will never let you go.”
After the ceremony, the partners chatted with ET Online about their renewed relationship and their struggles. Cinta shared, “I mean, love is hard. It’s never easy, but it always works. And that’s how it should be, right?”
Her husband then explained how they’ve grown as a couple, saying it’s all about “us just being good friends and doing things that he likes to do that I like to do and just hanging in there.”
Brandy’s younger brother Norwood continued, “He’s my best friend; I am his best friend. And all the friends and all the people we have, they have to get out of our bubble. I think once we start locking in like that, it becomes a lot of fun, you know?”
The Mississippi native went on to claim that there were several people against them, including “some of the world.” However, he and Love decided they just needed to “shut everyone out and focus on us and our family.”

He elaborated, “I mean, when you look over the edge, and it’s going to end for real, this is a sure thing; it changes the whole scope of things. And I’m glad we stayed there.”

Looking back on the couple’s tumultuous relationship, in May 2020, Love filed for divorce from Ray J before filing a request to dismiss the case in July of the same year. Then in September, the 42-year-old entertainer filed for divorce from his wife, and the following February, they both filed for divorce.
Before reconciling for the second time, Ray J revealed in September 2022 why he filed for divorce, saying it was after Love accused him in 2019 of leaving her and their daughter stranded in Las Vegas, which he denied.
The father of two believes the separation is the best thing to make Love smile more and enjoy who she is and her life while also wanting her children to be happy and in a good space.

However, for the third divorce filing in October, Ray J appealed to the court for joint custody of his two children and Love. In the document obtained by The Blast, not only is his request stated, but the couple’s prenuptial agreement is also stated, showing the amount he has to pay the model, including child support.
It is reported that Ray J asked the court to order “a variety of jewelry and other personal items” as her property along with “earrings and collections before the marriage, during the marriage, and from and after the date of separation.”
The filing further claims there are several other “property assets and obligations of each party as mandated by their Prenuptial Agreement.” Implied assets usually include music royalties and resources.
