WASHINGTON — A former Biden family business partner grilled President Biden in an explosive opening statement at a House impeachment inquiry deposition Tuesday, saying the commander-in-chief was corrupt — and that his testimony would help prove it.
“The Biden family business is Joe Biden, isn’t it,” said Tony Bobulinski, a former Navy officer who worked with first son Hunter Biden and first brother James Biden on a venture with CEFC China Energy.
Bobulinski claimed he met with Joe Biden twice in May 2017 to discuss the effort shortly after Biden left office as vice president.
A different former Biden family associate, Rob Walker, testified on January 26 that the Biden family’s business relationship with CEFC dates back to 2015 when Joe Biden was still vice president and that Joe Biden himself attended a meeting at the Four Seasons hotel in or around March 2017 with CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming, who has since disappeared in China amid allegations of corruption.
