Rekha is an Indian actress. He is considered one of the best actors of Indian cinema. He is the recipient of three Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. In 2010, he was honored with the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his immense contribution to Indian Cinema.

Rekha was born on 10 October 1954 (age 64 years; as in 2018) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His zodiac sign is Libra. She attended Chennai’s Church Park Convent School. Rekha wanted to be a flight attendant in her childhood. However, he was rejected because he was too young at the time. She later thought of becoming a nun because her convent school housed many nuns but her family’s troubled financial situation forced her to work in B and C grade Telugu films. Rekha made her acting debut in 1999 with the Kannada Movie “Operation Jackpot Nalli CID 999.” Next, she appeared in the Telugu film “Amma Kosam.” His debut in Bollywood came with the film “Sawan Bhadon.” He had to learn Hindi for the film as he was not very fluent in the language. The film was a hit at the box office and established Rekha as an actress. After that, he appeared in commercial hits like “Raampur Ka Lakshman,” “Kahani Kismat Ki,” “Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye,” “Do Anjaane,” “Ghar,” and “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar.”

In 1981, they appeared in “Silsila,” one of the most scandalous films, in which Rekha played Bachchan’s love interest, where his real wife played the role of Jaya Bhaduri as his wife. It was the last film they did together. Not only acting, but he gave his voice to other veteran actors. He lent his voice for Neetu Singh in Yaarana and for Smita Patil in Waaris.

- 15-year-old Rekha became a victim of controversy during the shooting of her film “Anjana Safar” opposite Biswajeet Chatterjee. It is mentioned in her biography, that the romantic scenes featuring Rekha and Biswajeet Chatterjee should have been shot without any intimate/offensive action. However, as soon as the camera was rolled, Biswajeet grabbed her from behind and pressed his lips to hers without giving her any time to react. The director kept shouting “cut” but Biswajeet didn’t stop for at least 5 minutes and the crew kept whistling and jeering at the scene. It is also claimed in the biography that both the actor and the director have carved this act for their respective personal and commercial benefits.
- Rekha’s romance with actor Vinod Mehra was once the talk of the town. There were also speculations that the couple got married in a secret ceremony in Kolkata but when Vinod took Rekha to his house, her mother behaved with Rekha in a very hostile manner. He rejected Rekha when the actress tried to seek his blessing. He continued to abuse and humiliate Rekha and even refused to allow her to enter the house. Vinod tries to control the matter but his mother is so agitated that she removes her sandal and almost attacks Rekha with it.
- Rishi Kapoor married Neetu Singh on 22 January 1980. During their wedding, many Bollywood personalities including Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jaya Bachchan were invited to the event. Rekha entered the venue in a White Saree with a Red Bindi on her forehead and Sindoor in her hair. He headed straight towards Amitabh and confronted him for about 5 minutes. Jaya couldn’t stand the situation and ended up in tears. Until now, the exact conversation between the two is unknown and thus has led to various speculations.

- According to her biography, Rekha: The Untold Story, her husband, Mukesh Agarwal, is a chronic depressive and also sees a psychiatrist for the same. Cracks started to appear in their marriage just 7 months after their union when Mukesh started showing erratic behavior. On October 2, 1990, a year after their marriage, Mukesh committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his bedroom as people began to blame Rekha for this incident and even declared her a ‘man-eating witch.’
