Sumathi started her acting career in 1986 with the Tamil film “Kadalora Kavithaigal” as ‘Jennifer.’
Some of her Tamil films include “Roja Kootam” (2002), “Kovil” (2004), “Thambi Arjuna” (2010), “Pyaar Prema Kaadhal” (2018), and “Dharmaprabhu” (2019).
She made her Malayalam film debut in 1989 with the film “Ramji Rao Speaking” as ‘Rani.’
Subsequently, she appeared in the Malayalam films “Lal Salam” (1990), “Janam” (1993), “Saamoohyapadom” (1996), “Jayam” (2006), and “Kinar” (2018).
Her Telugu film debut came in 1989 with the film “Rudranetra” in which she played the role of ‘Swarnarekha.’
She made her Kannada film debut in 1987 with the film “Poornachandra” as ‘Kumuda.’
