Rep. Rashida Tlaib brands Benjamin Netanyahu a ‘genocidal maniac’ and warns she won’t ‘ever forget’ colleagues that met with him

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, calling the leader of the Jewish state a “genocidal maniac” in a social media post.

The far-left “Squad” member made the mocking remark in a post on his Instagram Story, where he also expressed disdain for a fellow congressman who had met with the prime minister in the midst of Israel’s war against Hamas.

“Crazy genocide. Every member of Congress who sits with this murderer supports a war criminal,” Tlaib wrote, sharing a graphic from the left-wing independent newspaper Democracy Now claiming that Netanyahu is “working to move Palestinians out of Gaza.”

“We will never forget,” the Michigan Democrat added.

“I am so sick and tired of our country funding and supporting genocide and war against children,” Tlaib wrote in another Instagram Story on Wednesday. “Please don’t stop talking about Palestine.”

His post included a video purportedly of a dead Palestinian baby and was made as the death toll in Gaza passed 20,000, according to Hamas-controlled health officials.

Tlaib’s comments came about a week after Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), who is Jewish, met with Netanyahu, an Israeli official and family member of a hostage held by Hamas in Gaza, during a visit to the Jewish state.

“Our objective is clear: the US must stand by Israel to bring home all hostages, including America, eliminate terrorists, & provide much-needed humanitarian aid to the innocent Palestinian civilians used by Hamas as human shields,” Gottheimer wrote in a post on X.

Gottheimer was among 22 House Democrats who voted with Republicans to censure Tlaib last month for his alleged defense of the terrorist group Hamas and calls for the destruction of Israel.

Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, has been one of the most vocal lawmakers against the Israeli government since his election to the House of Representatives in 2018.

His criticism of Netanyahu and Israel only intensified after the October 7 Hamas attack that left more than 1,200 people dead and saw hundreds kidnapped by terrorists.

Israeli counter-airstrikes and ground attacks against Hamas have resulted in the deaths of some 21,000 Palestinians, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.

Tlaib wasn’t the only politician to liken Netanyahu to a lunatic on Wednesday.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan compared the Israeli leader to Adolf Hitler during an awards ceremony in Ankara, likening the country’s military offensive in Gaza to Nazi Germany’s systematic killing of Jews.

“They used to talk badly about Hitler. What is the difference between you and Hitler? They will make us miss Hitler. Is what Netanyahu did less than what Hitler did? It is not,” Erdogan said.

“He is richer than Hitler, he has the support of the West,” added the Turkish leader. “All kinds of support came from the United States. And what do they do with all this support? They killed more than 20,000 Gazans.”
