Revathi is an Indian actress and director. He worked in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. Revathi has become one of the best actresses in South Indian cinema. He was awarded the Best Film Actor Award for his performances in the films Mann Vasanai (1983), Thevar Magan (1992), Anjali (1990), Ankuram (1993), and Kakothi Kaavil Appoopan Thadigal (1988). In 1992, she was awarded the National Award for Best Actress for the film ‘Thevar Magan.’

In 2013, Revathi got divorced in a family court in Chennai. Revathi’s debut film was an Indian Tamil language romantic drama film Mann Vasanai in 1983. She also appeared in the Indian Malayalam language drama film Kattathe Kilikkoodu in 1983. Revathi was one of the leading actresses in South India from 1983 to 1986. In 1984, she acted in the Indian Telugu language drama film Seethamma Pelli. The film was later dubbed into Malayalam as Thennal Thedunna Poovu. In 1993, she worked with her husband in the Tamil language thriller Pudhiya Mugam. Revathi’s upcoming film is Major, which will release in June 2022.
Revathi also portrayed the role of a blind man in the Indian Tamil language film Kai Kodukkum Kai.
In 2022, Revathi directed a Bollywood comedy drama film in which actress Kajol played the lead role. Kajol is happy to hear the story of the movie The Last Hurrah. He quoted,

Dancing
Revathi is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, and she started learning to dance at the age of seven. He made his debut on stage as a former student of Indian classical dance and music in Chennai in 1979. His mother and Ranganayaki Jayaraman were his mentors. He also gave many performances on stage even when he was developing as an actor. Revathi had to give up her passion for dancing due to several reasons. After a gap of 15 years, Revathi performed solo on the 80th anniversary of Sri Saraswathy Gana Nilayam. In an interview when asked about dance, Revathi quoted,
Dance has always been my favorite. I started dancing when I was seven years old; my arangetram in 1979… 40 years now!
