“Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Alexis Bellino recently introduced her transgender son Miles Bellino on Instagram with a post describing his journey. “Hey world, this is Miles. My transgender son,” the caption began. It further explains the courage it took for her to come out and why Alexis didn’t open up about it on social media sooner.

Alexis Bellino Shares Miles’ Journey On IG
“He is now a month over 15 years old, so he saw the questions and comments made about him on my IG. Miles now has a voice and has asked me to do this post. I’ve stopped posting for the past few months due to this transition in Miles’ life, but he’s now ready to “come out” and use this platform to stop any hate or questions,” she wrote in her caption. “I’m holding off on posting this for her for a while, but now I know Miles really wanted this because he’s tired of people being misgendered and confused, so we’re setting the record straight and hopefully providing some clarity.”

“Love Doesn’t Change In This Situation”
The reality star explained that she had known for more than 16 months, but Miles kept it a secret from others for a while. It took him a while to get to the point where he was ready to tell about it and mother and son agreed now was the time.
“I can’t imagine the strength and courage it took for my baby to do this, but I’m so proud of him and I want everyone to understand that love doesn’t change in this situation. It is unconditional love,” he wrote. “My son has now grown rapidly!! My son is now smiling naturally for the first time in years! My son now loves the clothes he wears. My son can breathe because he can be who he really is. My son lights up every time a stranger calls him “he.” My son runs with the boys. My son can actually FEEL. My son can live life now with his true self….”
Alexis’ caption goes on to explain that this is the same kid who has done so many wonderful things like giving his only water bottle to a thirsty friend in kindergarten, and the kid who gave his spare change to a homeless person on the street. He also explained that Miles wanted to open up about his transition to hopefully stop the hate.

Alexis Bellino Is Proud Of Her Son For Speaking Out And Trying To Stop The Hate
“I’m so proud of Miles for wanting to stop the hate, and for being brave enough to step forward at such a young age. She now has her whole life to live the life she deserves,” the caption continued. “Let us bring peace and happiness and unity out of this. We are all human and we are ALL the same. I 100% fully support my son. I hope you are too. I love you all. Thank you for supporting me and my family through all of our transitions over the years. The world needs more love and kindness.”
Many of Alexis’ friends and social media followers jumped into the comments to share words of love, acceptance, and how proud they were of Miles and Bellino. Meghan King commented, “What a beautiful example of love!” Andy Cohen added, “👏👏👏👏👏 beautiful post ❤️❤️❤️❤️” Heather Dubrow chimed in with, “So brave and amazing – we love you both ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

Social Media Followers Started Noticing Miles Wasn’t In Any Recent Photos
Some of Alexis’ social media followers began to notice that Miles was not in any of her recent photos. One follower commented on the twins’ eighth grade graduation post, “WHAT’S UP WITH THE OTHER TWINS?????” and another added, “what’s up with the other twins lately??”
Alexis, who starred on “RHOC” from seasons 5 to 8, is also mother to James, 16, and twin brother Miles, 14, whom she shares with ex-husband Jim Bellino. Two years after her divorce from Jim was finalized, she announced that she was engaged to boyfriend Andy Bohn.
