“Our job as parents is to provide our children with a safe and supportive environment so that they can grow up to be healthy, happy, confident and independent human beings. The Dubrows Support And Encourage Their Children

During the interview with People magazine in February 2022, Heather shared that her daughter Max had come out as bi a year earlier, and her second daughter Kat had also come out as a lesbian.

As a proud mother of four, Heather admits that her children are in the process of discovering themselves and figuring out their place in the world as individuals.

Commenting on Ace’s personality at the time, Terry noted that the pre-teen was always determined and was “a very complex, layered person.” Terry also mentions that Ace is “going through a lot of self-exploration” and discovering themselves.

On the other hand, Heather expressed her displeasure with the label placed on Ace because of their clothing choices. As he stated, he believes that clothes should not be subject to labels and should only be seen as clothes.

“Everyone is always looking [Ace] because [Ace] clothes ‘like a boy,’ which, I hate labels like that. It’s clothes. Clothes should just be clothes at this point,” he said.

‘What Matters What We Wear?’

Despite these obstacles, Dubrow’s parents remain supportive of Ace and are committed to creating a safe and loving environment for their son’s journey of self-discovery.

Citing examples, the “brave” expressed his admiration for actor Billy Porter, who rocked a stunning gown on the runway. She said that she believes that fashion choices should not be a point of contention and that everyone should have the freedom to dress as they wish.

Heather & Terry Dubrow Aim To Create A Safe Space For Their Children

While discussing their return to “Real Housewives of Orange County” last season, the Dubrow couple said they wanted to use their broad platform to share their family’s story and promote positive change.

Heather explained that they saw an opportunity to spark meaningful conversations in other families, while Terry emphasized the importance of discussing sexuality openly and honestly.

As a famous plastic surgeon and star of “Botched,” Terry realizes that coming out with one’s sexuality is an important event that broadly affects many different people. “We just want people to realize it should be part of the normal conversation,” he said at the time.
