‘RHOSLC’ Star Monica Garcia Exits The Reality Show After Just One Season

Monica Garcia’s days on the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” may officially be over following her connection to a troll account.

The reality TV star is a fan favorite for breathing new life into the Bravo show. However, her debut in the show’s 4th season was filled with more drama than her co-stars could handle, and they may need a permanent “break” from Garcia.

‘RHOSLC’ Showrunners Confirm Monica Garcia Will Not Return For Season 5

Despite making waves as the first Latina to join the cast of “RHOSLC,” fans won’t be able to enjoy Garcia’s swagger in season 5 of the reality TV series. Bravo executive producers confirmed the news of his departure, stating the cast needed to regroup after a tumultuous 4th season.

Multiple sources shared similar stories, stating the 40-year-old will not be joining his co-stars — Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose and Angie Katsanevas — when filming resumes in February. However, Bravo executive Andy Cohen hinted that Garcia’s departure may not be permanent.

The “Watch What Happens Live” host suggested the entertainer’s departure could be “a break”. He also teased the possibility of his return, hinting it would depend on mending his strained relationship with other castmates.

“I think the question is how is Monica, or Monica, going to find her way back into this group?” Cohen chimed in, echoing the same sentiment to the show’s producers — Noah Samton and Lisa Shannon. The show’s cast claimed that discussions about Garcia’s part on “RHOSLC” were ongoing in an interview on January 19.

“[We’ve] has about 7,000 conversations on the subject. We probably still have a few hundred more ahead of us,” Samton revealed per PEOPLE, noting Garcia is an important part of the series. In his words:

“[Monica’s] a great actor. She’s open and vulnerable, and she represents a different kind of person in Salt Lake than we have on the show. She comes from a different background, and there’s a lot about her that the audience can relate to in a different way than other women.”

“But at the same time, there is cheating, there are relationships with other actors. It’s a very complicated puzzle,” Samton stated of Garcia’s link to the troll account. Despite his mistakes, the show’s actors stressed that “from a ratings point of view,” the performer’s chances of returning are high.

“But it’s really challenging in this situation. We’re just trying to figure it out,” he admitted. Shannon added, “It’s a situation we’ve never experienced before. … This is a different beast than I think any of us have dealt with. So we’re moving through it.”

Monica Garcia Out After Exposing Her Relationship With Troll Account

As mentioned, Garcia’s first season on “RHOSLC” was filled with a lot of drama regarding her relationship with Instagram troll account RealityVonTease. He addressed his link to this page at the end of the show’s reunion episode after co-star Heather Gay revealed it.

Garcia admitted to posting on the troll’s account, which has a history of criticizing the show’s stars. However, he claimed his participation on the platform was aimed at exposing former co-star Jen Shah’s crimes rather than dissing his current co-star.

“I don’t say s— about anybody but Jen, and I’ll own her to the grave,” he said when confronted by another woman. Garcia refused to see her involvement with RealityVonTease as a “bad thing” because she was “just telling the truth.”

However, her co-stars did not share her perspective on the matter, with many calling her out for betraying their trust. Gay blasted Garcia as a “cyber-bullying internet troll,” while Barlow shouted: “You’re f—ing fooling us all.” Marks also voiced similar grievances, saying: “You’ve sat here with us for three months and not told us the truth.”

Days before the drama premiered on “RHOSLC,” Garcia revealed her marriage to ex-husband Mike Fowler ended due to domestic violence. She announced the news on Instagram, stating she hopes to tackle the matter on a reality TV series.

“The reason for our divorce was domestic violence. My ex has been arrested several times for domestic violence against me in front of our girls and violating a protection order,” the 40-year-old admitted, noting that he wanted fans to understand his current situation.

Garcia’s ex-husband was arrested for “slapping her in the face” in a 2021 incident that took place at the former couple’s home. According to the police report, Fowler assaulted her following a heated argument that began when the couple went out to dinner.
