Blue-collar singer Oliver Anthony insisted he’s not a fan of Joe Biden on Saturday — after scorching the Republican for using his hit song for political purposes.
“Corporate news (big surprise) is now trying to turn me into a Biden supporter,” the “Rich Men North of Richmond” singer said in an early morning Facebook post that Anthony promised would be his last word on politics.
“Most definitely a Biden problem,” he said — but said his song’s lyrics were “not exclusively knocking Biden.”
On Friday, the man behind the populist song No. 1 posted a 10-minute YouTube video blasting the Republican for claiming his own song at Wednesday’s GOP presidential debate, saying the song “has nothing to do with Joe Biden.”
In his Saturday post, he expanded on the comments while taking a jab at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has used the song as a pat on the campaign trail
“DeSantis … talked about the need to remove Joe Biden, as if that would automatically solve all the problems,” Anthony wrote. “Biden is a big part of this issue, a little bit it runs deeper.”

Instead, he said, his surprise “is about corporate-owned DC politicians on both sides.”
“It collectively knocks the system,” Anthony wrote. “Including corporate-owned conservative politicians [sic] who is on stage [Wednesday] night.”
Since being uploaded two weeks ago, “Rich Men North of Richmond” has racked up more than 42 million YouTube views, becoming the first song by an artist with no chart history to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Meanwhile DeSantis continued to name-check the song in Saturday’s speech.
“We are concerned about bankruptcy as a country because of what the rich people north of Richmond are doing with our tax dollars,” the governor told voters in Algona, Iowa.
“Oh, you like that song?” he laughed mockingly, as the audience roared in agreement.
