Ring footage appears to show adults urge kids to steal Halloween decorations from DC home

A Washington DC homeowner is “disgusted” after his Ring doorbell camera caught a toddler stealing Halloween decorations from his front porch – and nearby adults appeared to direct the crime.

The disturbing footage shows three children walking into a Hillcrest home around 8:30pm on October 12, WUSA9 reported.

The children peer into the house through the window when an adult appears in the frame, seemingly directing them, a video show.

A second adult was seen standing guard on the sidewalk in front of the house.

According to the footage, two of the children each grabbed a basket from the porch and ran with the adults in tow.

The homeowner, who gave her name only as Shelly, said she was more concerned about the behavior than the missing Halloween decorations. He believed the two adults were the child’s parents.

“You know these little babies, which frankly I feel sorry for, especially the little one because when they get up and run, they kind of leave it behind,” Shelly told WUSA9. “I mean what kind of parents! I think if they do something like this and it involves their children, they will do anything.”

He said he hopes adults caught on his Ring cameras get the help they need, and that children do, too.

“Even though I’m angry, I want the best for them,” he said. “I want them to learn and learn that this is wrong and not do it again and grow into adults who can adjust well.”
