Riya started her career while appearing in season 3 of Super Junior Star which was judged by Krishnasaamy Bhagyaraj. The show is a Tamil language children’s talent show reality show aired on Zee Tamil.
Later, Riya got an opportunity to work in the Tamil television series Senthoora Poove where she appeared as Kayal in 2020. Riya then made headlines for acting in the television drama Abhiyum Naanum where she played the lead role of Abhirami alongside Vidhya Mohan.
