RJ Malishka was born as ‘Malishka Mendonsa’ on Sunday, 11 October 1981 (age 38 years; like 2019) in Mumbai. He grew up in Santacruz East, Mumbai. His zodiac sign is Libra. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from St Xavier’s College, Mumbai and obtained his MA in Political Science from the University of Mumbai, after a one-year break. Career
RJ Malishka started his career in the advertising industry. He interned under Indian ad film director Prahlad Kakkar but did not find the field very interesting. He later did dubbing for Discovery Channel in Hindi. He started his career as a radio jockey with “Win 94.6 FM” and worked with them for two years. Later, he joined Rediff Radio for seven months and then started working with Red FM.

He has hosted popular radio shows such as Morning No 1, Best Breakfast Program and M Bole Toh. In 2013, she competed in the popular dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a wild card contestant, but was eliminated in the 9th week.

He became an actor with the 2017 Bollywood film “Tumhari Sulu” starring Vidya Balan, in which he played the role of a radio jockey.

He also frequented the reality TV show Bigg Boss in its many seasons. He has also done dubbing for Hindi versions of Hollywood films; The Incredibles (2004) as ‘Mirage(Mona)’ and Thor: Ragnarok (2017) as ‘Valkyrie / Scrapper 14.’ In 2020, she competed in the reality TV show “Khatron Ke Khiladi 10” which aired on Colors TV.

Controversy
In 2017, he posted a video, addressing the issue of potholes in Mumbai and criticizing the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The video went viral but earned him the wrath of the Shiv Sena, the ruling party in the BMC. Following that, a Shiv Sena corporator released his video; against Malishka’s song. In early 2019, the BMC invited Malishka to monitor their pre-monsoon work and also brief them on the work of the civic body. However, this did not stop Malishka, and he posted another video criticizing the BMC.

- He likes travelling, reading, watching movies at the cinema, driving, adventure sports, singing and white water rafting.
- As a child, Malishka was a confident girl who was always eager to go on stage. He used to wait for teacher’s day or children’s day, just to be on stage.
- During her school days, she used to be a part of all forms of activities, be it playing, practicing Bharatanatyam dance or singing.
- During her college days, she was part of the PR team and also a singer in her college band.
- His show “Morning No 1 with Malishka” won the Indian Excellence in Radio Award for Best Breakfast Program/Show (Hindi) for four consecutive years, ie, from 2006 to 2010.
- RJ Malishka trained Vidya Balan for the film “Lage Raho Munnabhai” where, Vidya played the role of RJ. Speaking about it, he said,
I think it was Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s idea. You know, Raju Hirani (director of Munnabhai) called me once and said that Chopra is a big fan of mine, and wants to model the character in his next film on my personality. After that, Vidya will come to the studio to learn the ropes and mannerisms used to make RJ. I wouldn’t say he imitated me, because I used the ‘gooooood’ in my speech, and he did the ‘mooorning’!
