The next slide continues her story and how beauty pageants helped her. “As she gets older, she discovers pageants. It’s the perfect combination that allows her little world to exist IN the real world AND in a way that is socially acceptable,” she continued. “Not only that, but there are rules. And when she learns them, she no need to guess how to be.”

Bryiana explained that she received death threats in junior high school, realizing people didn’t accept the real her, so she “took it easy by watching movies and shows where underprivileged people had the potential to shine and finally be accepted.”
“For 31 years everyone thought he was fine,” the story continued. “A little weird and too old to be a picky eater and so princess-y, too dependent on schedules, structure and systems, and rigid in her black and white thinking, but all things considered, it’s considered personality flaws rather than what they really are because in the early 90’s girls were not diagnosed as autistic.

She ended her Instagram slide by saying, “I was so scared to go public with this because it wasn’t well received when I first shared it with some of the people closest to me and it hurt a lot. But I have finally reached the acceptance phase of my late diagnosis of ASD and I am filled with more hope and peace than ever before. So if you see me acting different, it’s because I am.”
