Career
Rob Niedermayer began his junior hockey career with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League in 1990. He has 24 goals and 26 assists this season. After the season, he had two seasons with the club, scoring 32 and 43 points. He was chosen by the Florida Panthers into the National Hockey League in 1993. He has 9 goals and 17 assists during the season. Moving ahead, in 1995, he set a career-best with 82 goals and 26 assists in the NHL.
The Panthers, his club, reached the Stanley Cup finals the same year. The squad, however, was beaten by the Colorado Avalanche. As a consequence of the concussions he got in the following years, he began playing as a defensive forward. He was a Panthers player until 2001. In exchange for Valeri Bure and Jason Wiemer, he was transferred to the Calgary Flames in 2001. He scored 57 goals for the squad that year. The Flames traded him to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2003.
