Actor Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, the late grandson of Hollywood Icon Robert De Niro, has died at the age of 19. Leandro’s mother, Drena De Niro, who announced his passing on Instagram, has now shared what may have led to his earlier death.
Drena, in response to someone’s comment under her tribute post to her son, revealed that she had been sold pills laced with the drug fentanyl. Leandro was found dead in a Manhattan building known for its large apartments and social clubs.

While an investigation is underway into the cause of Leandro’s death, his mother, Drena, recently shared online that her late son had sold pills laced with the drug fentanyl.
The actor made the revelation while responding to someone on Instagram who asked him “why” and “how” his son died.
The distraught mother wrote, “Someone sold him fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced but still sold them to him so to everyone still struggling with selling and buying this crap, my son is gone forever.”

The news outlet also reported that police found drugs and drug paraphernalia near the 19-year-old’s body in a New York City apartment, providing more clues as to the exact cause of her death. However, for now, no official cause of death has been determined.
In addition to the drugs found near Leandro’s body, the location of his death also raised eyebrows.

The late actor’s body was reportedly found in a Manhattan low-rise known for its large apartments and exclusive old-money-inspired social clubs.
follow Insider, the New York Police Department responded to an emergency call at 55 Wall Street around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Upon arriving at the scene, it was reported that they found an 18-year-old man “unconscious and unresponsive.” He was later identified as Leandro and was 19 years old and was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.
The building called Cipriani Wall Street, where Leandro was found dead, is noteworthy for its great status. Per Insiderthe building offers luxury apartments, event space, hotel rooms and an exclusive $4,000-a-year old money-inspired social club known as Casa Cipriani.
According to Cipriani’s website, the landmark building is the former home of the National City Bank, the New York Merchants’ Exchange, the United States Customs House and the New York Stock Exchange.

Through Instagram, Drena wrote a heartfelt message to her late son, highlighting how much she loved him and will miss his presence.
The actress wrote, “My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you without words or description since I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy, my heart, and everything that has ever been pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you.”
Drena continued, “I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to carry on and spread the love and light that you feel for me to be your mama.”

Leandro’s father also expressed his grief in the comments section of his ex-partner’s post, writing, “Darling… Words are not enough to express the joy he gave us or the loss we now bear with our family and friends. He is a child of God now. On this full moon, his spirit illuminates what cannot be seen in the darkness. You can’t spell LOVE without LEO.”
