Rohan Shrestha is an Indian photographer originally from Nepal. For his professional life, Rohan hops between Mumbai, India and New York, USA. The ace photographer has carved a niche for himself, and his pictures have appeared in many top fashion magazines like L’officiel, Verve, Grazia, Filmfare, Cosmopolitan among others. Having also studied at the New York Film Academy, his creativity and contemporary style have made him one of the leading photographers of the glamor world.

As his father was a busy photographer, and his mother was a flight attendant with Air India, they traveled a lot, so Rohan grew up with his maternal grandparents.

After his mother’s death, his father remarried Pooja Shrestha, who also worked as a flight attendant. He has a brother from his father’s second marriage, Rihaan.

Career

Rohan Shrestha did his schooling from Student Academy, Mumbai. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from the HR College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai and also obtained a Degree Course in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy, New York, USA. Shrestha made her photography debut in 2009. Although she aspired to be a pilot or a scuba diver, destiny had other plans for Shrestha. Raised in a family with a strong photographic background, he was always interested in photography, and after finishing his schooling, he began working under his father and various other photographers. His father, Rakesh Shrestha, is a famous and renowned photographer, and has shot for more than 600 films.

He started his photography career as a Freelance Photographer in 2009 by opening a studio at Aaram Nagar in Versova, Mumbai, and has worked for magazine giants like- Vogue, GQ, L’Officiel, Harpers Bazaar, Verve, Cosmopolitan, Filmfare, FHM, Mans World, Femina, People, Hello!, etc.

His mother always wanted Rohan to succeed in his life and career. Unfortunately, he died a day before Rohan’s first magazine cover was released.

If sources are to be believed, it is said that after the sudden death of his mother, his father abandoned photography and Rohan himself was inclined towards spirituality.

Later in 2010, she had her first major photo shoot, for actor Ranbir Kapoor.

Rohan Shrestha runs an NGO called ‘Manusia Esok’ and has a dream to build a home for the elderly.
